Last verified: 3 October 2026. The form status is labelled below. The 2026 process details are CONFIRMED from the Times of India’s coverage of the NTA bulletin; everything about the 2027 cycle is EXPECTED until NTA releases the information bulletin.
Let us start with the honest answer: the AISSEE 2027 application form is not out yet. NTA had still not released the 2027 information bulletin as of the portal check on 2 October 2026 (CONFIRMED via the portal status; education portals edexlive and buddy4study both reported the notification as awaited). This is an explainer, not breaking news — written so that when the portal does open, you spend twenty minutes on the form instead of two panicked days.
Why write it now? Last year the window was only twenty days: NTA opened applications on 10 October 2025 and closed them on 30 October 2025, and the server crawl on the final evening was brutal. The 2027 window is EXPECTED to follow a similar October timeline. The parents ready on day one sailed through; the ones discovering the document list on 28 October did not.

The process below is the CONFIRMED AISSEE 2026 sequence, reported by the Times of India from the NTA bulletin. The 2027 flow is expected to be identical.
Step 1 — Go to the right portal. The application runs on exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society (CONFIRMED for 2026). Ignore lookalike sites; official links only appear on NTA’s own domains.
Step 2 — New registration. Register with the child’s name, email ID and mobile number. Keep both active — OTPs land here. The registered email and mobile typically cannot be changed later, so triple-check.
Step 3 — Fill the form. Personal, academic and exam-city details. Last year the exam ran across 190 cities (CONFIRMED, TOI). Pick cities you can genuinely reach.
Step 4 — Upload documents. Scanned photo, signature and certificates in the specified format. This is where most forms die — blurry signatures and mismatched name spellings are the classic rejections. Our correction-window guide explains what can and cannot be fixed afterwards.
Step 5 — Pay the fee. Debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Last year’s fee was ₹850 for General/OBC-NCL/Defence/Ex-Servicemen and ₹700 for SC/ST (CONFIRMED for 2026; EXPECTED to repeat). Save the payment receipt — no receipt, no proof of application.
Step 6 — Submit and print. Review the preview page once, submit, and download the confirmation page. Keep the application number safe; you will need it for admit-card downloads and corrections.

Do not wait for the bulletin. Keep scanned copies of the child’s photo and signature in the right sizes, birth proof, category certificate if applicable, and defence-ward documents if applicable. Our form-readiness checklist lists every item, and the fee explainer covers who pays what. Also confirm the child’s age fits before you pay a rupee — for 2027 the Class 6 window is PROJECTED at 10–12 years as on 31 March 2027 (born 1 Apr 2015 – 31 Mar 2017).
Is the AISSEE 2027 application form out? Not yet. As of the portal check on 2 October 2026, NTA had not released the AISSEE 2027 information bulletin. Registration is expected to open in October 2026, following last year’s pattern.
Where do I apply for AISSEE 2027? On the NTA portal at exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society. The entire 2026 process ran on this portal, and the same is expected for 2027.
What is the AISSEE application fee? For 2026 it was Rs 850 for General, OBC-NCL, Defence personnel and Ex-Servicemen, and Rs 700 for SC and ST candidates. The same fee is expected for 2027 until the new bulletin says otherwise.
What documents do I need for the AISSEE form? Last year candidates needed a scanned photo, signature, and relevant certificates such as birth proof, category certificate and defence-ward documents where applicable. Keep digital copies ready now so you are not rushing when the portal opens.
