The Sainik Schools Society sets the age criteria for AISSEE admissions. The age is calculated as on March 31 of the admission year, not the exam date. This is important because the exam happens in January, but the age cutoff is March 31.

The Government of India provides age relaxation for reserved category students. This is applicable to all Sainik Schools.

No. The minimum age is 10 years as on March 31. If your child is 9 years and 11 months on that date, they are not eligible. Wait for the next year.
No. The age cutoff is March 31. If your child turns 13 on April 5, they are already 12 years and 361 days on March 31, which is within the 10-12 range. They are eligible for Class 6 in 2027. But if they turn 13 before March 31, they are not eligible.
