Last verified: 2 October 2026. This is an explainer, not a news flash — the AISSEE 2027 bulletin is not released yet. Every amount below is CONFIRMED for the 2026 cycle (two independent portals citing NTA) and EXPECTED to continue for 2027.
The notification will drop any day now, and when it does, one of the first things you’ll look for is the fee. Here’s the full picture, based on the confirmed 2026 cycle: ₹850 for General, OBC-NCL and defence-ward candidates; ₹700 for SC and ST candidates — EXPECTED to stay unchanged for 2027 (CONFIRMED, 2026 cycle — Times of India citing the NTA bulletin; Collegedunia’s AISSEE 2027 guide).

| Category | Fee | Status |
|---|---|---|
| General | ₹850 | ✅ CONFIRMED (2026) / 🔶 EXPECTED (2027) |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | ₹850 | ✅ CONFIRMED (2026) / 🔶 EXPECTED (2027) |
| Defence wards (serving / ex-servicemen) | ₹850 | ✅ CONFIRMED (2026) / 🔶 EXPECTED (2027) |
| SC | ₹700 | ✅ CONFIRMED (2026) / 🔶 EXPECTED (2027) |
| ST | ₹700 | ✅ CONFIRMED (2026) / 🔶 EXPECTED (2027) |
Payment is online only — debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI (CONFIRMED, 2026 cycle). There is no cheque, demand draft, or cash option, and there never has been in the NTA era. In 2026 the fee-payment window stayed open one extra day beyond the application close (fee accepted till 31 October 2025 while forms closed 30 October) — that one-day grace is worth knowing, but don’t plan around it.
1. Paying before checking eligibility. The fee is non-refundable under all circumstances — form rejected, exam not taken, application withdrawn, none of it gets your money back (CONFIRMED, 2026 cycle — Collegedunia). Confirm your child’s age band and category before you reach for your card, not after.
2. Double payment after a failed transaction. If the money is debited but the payment shows failed, do not retry immediately. The amount is automatically refunded within 48–72 hours; pay again only after that window. Retrying instantly is how families end up paying ₹1,700 for a ₹850 form (reported practice, Collegedunia).
3. Losing the confirmation page. After successful payment, download and print the confirmation page — you will need it for admit-card download, exam-day entry, and later at counselling (CONFIRMED practice, 2026 cycle). Screenshots of “payment successful” pages are not a substitute.
One more, free of charge: submit exactly one application per child. Multiple applications from the same student are summarily rejected and all fees forfeited — no refund for duplicates (CONFIRMED, 2026 cycle).
Nothing can be paid yet — there is no live link until NTA releases the bulletin (expected this month; we covered the 20-day 2026 form window as a template). What you can do: keep a debit card or UPI with at least ₹1,000 ready, note which category your child applies under, and run through our notification-day parent checklist so payment day is a five-minute job, not a five-day scramble. The application form guide has the full step-by-step for when the window opens.
What is the AISSEE 2027 application fee?

Can I pay the AISSEE fee offline or by cash?
No. The fee is payable online only — debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. No cheque, demand draft, or cash is accepted.
Is the AISSEE application fee refundable?
No. The fee is non-refundable under all circumstances — even if your form is rejected, you do not appear for the exam, or you withdraw your application after submission.
