If your child is applying to the Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey UP Sainik School in Lucknow or the UP Sainik School in Gorakhpur for the 2027-28 session, this is the deadline that matters most right now. The normal-fee application window closes on 25 October 2026 at 5 PM — that is 16 days from today, a Sunday.
Miss that, and you don’t lose your chance entirely — but you pay double. The late-fee window runs from 26 to 31 October 2026 (till 5 PM), and the application fee jumps from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. There is no partial penalty here; one day late costs the same as six days late. Applying this weekend instead of next week is the simplest Rs 1,000 saving in this whole admission cycle.

Two things deserve attention. First, the correction window is only three days — 3 to 5 November — so re-check name spellings and birth dates before submitting, because it is a short safety net. Second, the entrance exam is just 72 days away, on 20 December. For families doing both this exam and AISSEE 2027 (expected January), the two tests will now land within weeks of each other.
This is where many parents slip up. The UP Sainik School exam is not the AISSEE, and it is not open to everyone. Both the candidate and the father must hold a valid Uttar Pradesh domicile certificate — if the father’s domicile is from another state, the child is ineligible regardless of where the family currently lives.
