Last verified: 9 October 2026. Facts below are CONFIRMED from an NTA public notice dated 7 October 2026, as reported independently by NDTV and the Free Press Journal. Exam details for December are sourced from the NTA bulletin coverage in The Telegraph, Education Post and Jagran Josh.

The National Testing Agency has opened the application correction window for the RIMCEE 2026 (Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Examination) today, 9 October 2026. It closes at 11:50 PM on 11 October — barely three days.
Two words in the NTA notice matter most: one-time facility. Once you submit a correction, the form freezes. And there will be no second correction window after the 11th. If your form has even one mistake in a name, a date of birth, or the exam city, this weekend is the time to fix it.
The correction facility is available on the official NTA RIMCEE portal (exams.nta.nic.in/RIMCEE/) — the same place you registered.
This is where families trip up, because “correction window” sounds like you can fix anything. You cannot. NTA has split the fields into three groups:
You can change any ONE of these three:
You can also change all of these:
You CANNOT change:
The name rule is the most commonly misunderstood one. It is not three edits — you get to change any one of the three names. If both the candidate’s name and the father’s name are wrong, you can fix only one. Choose carefully and re-read the form before you touch it.
If your correction changes the fee category — say, a change from General to SC — NTA will ask you to pay the difference. That additional fee is non-refundable once paid. Corrections that do not affect the fee carry no charge.
Practical advice: submit the correction, then immediately download and save the updated confirmation page. After submission the form is frozen — if you made a second mistake while fixing the first, there is no undo.
This is the first year NTA — rather than the old state-level commissions — is conducting the RIMC entrance exam, so the process is new for most families. Registration for the regular window closed on 30 September at 5 PM, with a late-fee window from 1 to 7 October, and the written examination is on 6 December 2026. The written test is followed by a viva voce round; both must be cleared to secure a Class 8 seat at RIMC, Dehradun for the July 2027 term.
