Last verified: 24 October 2026. The AISSEE 2027 information bulletin is ๐ถ EXPECTED but not yet released (no bulletin on the NTA portal as of today’s check). Every mechanic below is drawn from โ CONFIRMED AISSEE 2026 patterns reported across multiple education portals and NTA notices โ they will be reconfirmed the day the 2027 bulletin releases. Standing facts (the official portal address, the helpdesk numbers) are NTA’s published policy.

Here is something parents learn the hard way every cycle: clicking “submit” is not the end of the application. The end of the application is the confirmation page โ a PDF that carries your application number, your child’s details, and the payment transaction reference. If you cannot produce that page, you cannot prove the form was submitted. If you can, almost every later problem becomes fixable.
So the first thing to do after filling the form, on form day itself:
Everything else in this guide flows from that page. If your morning was spent fixing a rejected or flagged form, start with our guide on common rejection reasons and how to fix them.
The official portal is exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society. Status checking always happens through the candidate login โ never through a random “check status” link on another website.
Do this once on form day, once a week after the application window closes, and then at every milestone below. Checking daily does nothing except raise your blood pressure โ NTA updates statuses in batches, not in real time.
| Status you see | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Application submitted / confirmed | โ CONFIRMED: your form is complete and in NTA’s system. | Download the confirmation page if you haven’t. Nothing else to do. |
| Payment pending / awaiting payment | The bank deducted the fee but NTA hasn’t confirmed it. | Wait up to 48 hours โ bank settlement with NTA takes time. Keep the transaction reference number. Do NOT pay a second time immediately. |
| Payment failed / not received (after 48 hours) | The money is genuinely not with NTA. | Re-pay once, using a different payment method if possible. Save the new reference. Our fee-payment failure guide walks through this exact situation. |
| Application incomplete / draft | You filled the form but never completed the final submit step. | Log in, finish the remaining steps, and submit before the deadline. Drafts are not applications. |
| Photo/signature re-upload requested | NTA’s system flagged your uploaded image. | Re-upload a fresh photo/signature in the correct specs during the correction window (or immediately, if the portal allows). |
| No record found | The application number doesn’t match, or you’re on the wrong cycle’s login. | Check the number digit by digit, confirm you’re on the 2027 candidate login, and try the Forgot Application Number route below. |
Two statuses deserve extra attention. “Payment pending” panics parents every year โ in most cases it resolves itself within two days, and a duplicate payment creates a mess that takes weeks to sort. And “draft” is the silent killer: a surprising number of parents fill everything, close the tab, and assume it went through. If the status says draft, the exam authority knows nothing about your child.
One check is not enough; the cycle has five moments when your status matters:
| When | What to check | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Form day (day of submission) | Confirmation page downloads; application number; payment status | This is your proof. Fix anything missing while the window is open. |
| After the application window closes | Status still says submitted/confirmed | Late rejections happen โ an application valid on form day can be flagged at verification. |
| During the correction window (๐ถ EXPECTED mid-Nov 2026) | Whether you need to re-upload photo/signature or edit details | The window is short โ last year it ran only 3 days. Check on day one. |
| Admit card release (๐ถ EXPECTED mid-Jan 2027) | Admit card downloads with the correct name, photo, centre and category | Errors on the admit card are fixable only before the exam. |
| After the exam | Answer key โ response sheet โ result โ counselling registration | Each stage has its own login check; keep your application number safe until counselling ends. |
Set a calendar reminder for each row the day you submit the form. Parents who track all five never get surprised; parents who track only the first one sometimes are.
Run this checklist before calling anyone:
If everything checks out and the portal still shows nothing, escalate through the proper channel โ not through WhatsApp groups, where rumours about “portal down” and “form cancelled” spread faster than facts.
Never share your application password or OTP with anyone who calls you claiming to be NTA. NTA never asks for these.
How do I check my AISSEE application status online?
Log in to the candidate portal at exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society with your application number and password, then open the Application Status section. The confirmation page there is your proof of submission.
What does payment pending mean on the AISSEE form?
The bank has deducted the fee but NTA hasn’t confirmed it yet โ bank settlement can take up to 48 hours. Wait two days with your transaction reference handy, and only re-pay if the status is still unpaid.
I lost my AISSEE application number. How do I recover it?
Use the Forgot Application Number option on the candidate login with your registered mobile number and email ID, or search your inbox and SMS for the confirmation message NTA sent at registration time.
My AISSEE application shows submitted but I never got a confirmation email. Is it safe?
The confirmation page on the portal is the real proof, not the email. If you can download it from the candidate login and it carries your application number, the application is submitted โ save it as a PDF immediately.
Who do I contact if my AISSEE application status is stuck?
NTA’s AISSEE helpdesk at 011-40759000 or 011-69227700, or email [email protected]. Keep your application number and payment transaction reference ready before calling.
