Everyone is talking about the 25 October form deadline — and rightly so, because missing it costs you an extra ₹1,000 or the seat entirely. But the application is only step one of a five-month selection journey. Your child won’t set foot in the school until March — if everything goes right. Walk through the whole road with your child tonight. It makes the preparation real.

The written exam filters; the interview and medical select. Roughly four months after you submit the form, shortlisted children face a panel interview and a medical fitness examination through February 2027.
Two honest points. First, don’t buy a coaching industry around it — the interview checks what the school is actually buying: confidence, clarity of thought, basic general awareness, and the temperament to live in a residential military-style school. A composed child who can explain why they want to join beats one drilled on 500 “expected questions.”
Second, the medical is not a formality. Sainik Schools run a physically demanding routine — morning PT, drill, games — so it genuinely screens fitness. If your child has a known condition (eyesight, hearing, orthopaedic), get it checked now. That leaves time for correction or an honest conversation about expectations.
1. Save the login credentials somewhere permanent. The registration username and password unlock the admit card, the interview letter — everything downstream. Screenshot it, print it, stick it on the fridge.
2. Mark 3–5 November in red. The correction window is three days. After it, a wrong date of birth or a bad photograph becomes a permanent problem.
3. Start the 20 December syllabus now. The written exam is eight weeks away. The admit-card machinery runs on its own — your child’s preparation doesn’t need to wait for it.
UP Sainik School’s process is separate from NTA’s AISSEE — different form, exam and counselling — but the rhythm is the same: written exam in Dec/Jan, interviews in February, results by March. Track both without mixing up portals: upsainikschool.org vs exams.nta.nic.in.
What happens after the UP Sainik School form deadline on 25 October 2026?
