Last verified: 17 October 2026 (morning). All dates and fees below are CONFIRMED from yesterday’s national coverage — The Times of India (Education Times, 16 Oct 2026) and ABP News (16 Oct 2026), with the same schedule carried by Jagran Josh, EdexLive and CareerIndia. The exam date (20 December 2026) is tentative and can shift; treat it as a planning date. Fee figures come from the media reporting on the Society’s schedule, not a number I invented — cross-check your fee slip at the payment step.

If you have been following UP Sainik School news this week, yesterday was the day it went national. On 16 October 2026, The Times of India, ABP News, Jagran Josh and EdexLive all ran the same confirmed schedule from the Uttar Pradesh Sainik Schools Society — and the numbers are now unambiguous:
| Event | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Apply without late fee | 25 Oct 2026, 5 pm | CONFIRMED — 8 days left |
| Apply with late fee (₹2,000) | 26–31 Oct 2026, 5 pm | CONFIRMED |
| Correction window | 3–5 Nov 2026, 5 pm | CONFIRMED |
| Entrance exam (Classes 6 & 9) | 20 Dec 2026 | Tentative |
The normal application fee is ₹1,000 until the 25th. Every form filed from 26 October onward costs ₹2,000 total — double. That extra thousand is pure deadline tax.
Here’s the thing — nothing about the last week will feel urgent, and that’s exactly the problem. Portals are at their slowest in the final 48 hours, and every cycle a few hundred parents end up paying the late fee because they tried to file on the evening of the 25th and the payment page timed out.
So don’t plan for the 25th. Plan for the 24th evening. That gives you one buffer day if the upload fails, the photo gets rejected, or the OTP doesn’t arrive.
And here’s a small scene I keep seeing every admission season: a parent who has everything ready except the scanned documents, because “scanning takes two minutes.” It does — unless the shop is closed, the file is 5 MB when the portal wants 200 KB, and it’s 4:40 pm on deadline day. Get the scans done today. Saturday is your day for the boring paperwork.
Missed the 25th? The 26–31 October window still works with the ₹2,000 fee — and the correction window (3–5 November) is your safety net for eligible fields. It is not a plan for sloppy filling, but it exists.
This is the state-run UP Sainik Schools entrance (Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey UP Sainik School, Lucknow and Sainik School, Gorakhpur) — not the NTA-run AISSEE 2027 for the Defence Ministry’s Sainik Schools, whose notification is still awaited. Different portal, different exam, different form. If your child is eligible for both, you fill both.
