It closes today — here is what to do before 5 PM

The NTA window for the Rashtriya Military Schools Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) 2026 — the gateway to Classes 6 and 9 at India’s five Rashtriya Military Schools (Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum and Bengaluru) — shuts at 5:00 PM today, 20 October 2026.

If you have not applied yet, this is genuinely the last day for a regular-fee application. One crucial detail the reports flag: the 5 PM cutoff is for the application form, but the fee payment link stays open until 11:50 PM tonight. So even if you finish the form in the last hours, complete the payment the same night — do not sleep on it.

The last-hour checklist

• Register first, polish later. If you are short on time, get the registration and form submitted within the window; the correction window (27–28 October) exists for fixes.
• Watch the confirmation page, not the bank balance. NTA is explicit: money deducted from your account does not by itself mean you are registered. Only a generated confirmation page completes the application. If the page does not appear, do not assume it went through — retry the payment flow rather than walking away.
• Keep the fee chart right: Rs 1,000 for General/OBC/OBC-NCL; Rs 750 for SC/ST and wards of Armed Forces personnel killed in action. Payment gateway charges are extra, and wards of KIA personnel also get a six-month relaxation in the upper age limit.
• Check the age math once. Class 6: 10–13 years on 31 March 2027 (born 1 April 2014 – 31 March 2017). Class 9: 13–16 years on 31 March 2027 (born 1 April 2011 – 31 March 2014). Class 6 needs Class 5 passed or in progress; Class 9 needs Class 8 from a recognised school before admission.

The exam itself is on 13 December 2026 — a pen-and-paper OMR test of 2 hours 30 minutes, with city-intimation slips expected in the last week of November and admit cards 5–7 days before the test.
