The Rashtriya Military Schools Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) 2026 is now exactly one week into its application window. If your child is aiming for one of the five Rashtriya Military Schools — Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum or Bengaluru — the countdown has begun in earnest: 21 days remain until the regular application deadline of 20 October 2026, and 75 days until the exam on 13 December 2026.

The late-fee window is a genuine safety net, not a second chance to be casual about: apply now, because portal congestion on the last day is the single most common reason applications get rejected or left unpaid.
RMS CET 2026 admits students to Class 6 and Class 9 in the five Rashtriya Military Schools, which are English-medium residential schools run under the Ministry of Defence.

A six-month relaxation in the upper age limit applies to wards of Armed Forces personnel killed in action.
Academic eligibility: For Class 6, the child must have passed Class 5, or be studying in Class 5 now and pass it before the date of admission. For Class 9, the child must have passed Class 8 from a government or recognised school. Since English is the medium of instruction, a working knowledge of English is preferred for Class 9 applicants.
Payment is online only — credit/debit card, net banking or UPI. Keep the transaction proof safe; a surprising number of parents discover a failed payment only after the window closes.
