Last verified: 22 October 2026. School-wise figures below are CONFIRMED from two independent Tier-2 publications (The Tribune, The Hans India). The 242 running total is our arithmetic on publicly reported school figures — clearly a tally of media reports, not an official UPSC count.

Two more schools have reported their NDA written-exam results this week, and the national picture is getting clearer — and more impressive. Sainik School Korukonda in Andhra Pradesh has recorded the highest number of NDA/NA written qualifiers of any Sainik School in the country, while Sainik School Kunjpura in Haryana has reported a strong batch of its own. Together, they push the reported Sainik School tally this cycle past 240.
According to The Hans India, Korukonda produced 54 successful candidates in the UPSC NDA/NA written examination for 158 Course — the most of any Sainik School nationally. The numbers behind it are striking:
Principal Group Captain SS Shastri congratulated the cadets and credited the training team led by Wing Commander Kiran V., plus the school’s faculty, for the “sustained guidance, systematic preparation and mentorship” behind the result.
The Tribune reports that 45 cadets from Sainik School Kunjpura have qualified in the NDA written examination — 32 from the current Class XII batch and 13 from the previous batch. Principal Captain (IN) Gurbir Singh praised the cadets’ “hard work, discipline and perseverance” and expressed confidence ahead of the SSB interviews.
Our national scoreboard on 14 October stood at 143 reported qualifiers across the schools that had announced by then — including Nalanda’s 23, Kalikiri’s 50, Ghorakhal’s 44 and Punglwa’s 9. Korukonda (54) and Kunjpura (45) reported after that tally was published, so there is no double-counting. The running total of publicly reported Sainik School qualifiers is now 242.
That figure will keep moving. More schools are still announcing, and the number that matters next is not the written tally but how many convert through the five-day SSB stage — which is where the real attrition happens.
If your child is eyeing AISSEE 2027, this is the endgame you are buying into. A Sainik School’s NDA record is the most honest measure of what it does with six or seven years of your child’s life. Korukonda’s 52.56% written-qualification rate from a single Class XII batch is not luck — it is daily, relentless preparation, and that is what you are choosing when you choose a Sainik School.
Which Sainik School has the most NDA written qualifiers this year? Sainik School Korukonda leads all Sainik Schools with 54 cadets clearing the UPSC NDA/NA written examination for 158 Course — 41 from the current Class 12 batch and 13 from the previous batch.
How many Sainik School Kunjpura cadets cleared the NDA written exam? 45 cadets — 32 from the current Class 12 batch and 13 from the previous batch — as reported by The Tribune on 22 October 2026.
What is the total number of Sainik School NDA written qualifiers this cycle? 242, as per the running tally of media-reported school figures: the 143 counted in our 14 October scoreboard plus Korukonda’s 54 and Kunjpura’s 45. This is a tally of publicly reported school results, not an official UPSC figure.
What comes after clearing the NDA written exam? The Services Selection Board (SSB) interview — a five-day psychological, group-task and personal-interview assessment — followed by medicals and the final merit list.
