Last verified: 12 October 2026 (Monday, 7 AM). The portal status below is CONFIRMED from a live check of the NTA’s official AISSEE portal this morning. The exam date (31 January 2027) and fee figures are EXPECTED — from NTA’s preliminary calendar and the 2026 bulletin pattern, not yet from the 2027 notification. This is a milestone-tied explainer, not breaking news.

Monday mornings are honest: the weekend refresh-marathon is over, and nothing has changed. As of 7 AM today, the NTA’s AISSEE portal shows no 2027 notification — the “LATEST NEWS” panel still carries only AISSEE 2026 items (scorecards, answer keys, counselling notices). Meanwhile, the RIMC correction window closed at 11:50 PM last night, and the calendar is filling up fast.
So forget waiting. Here is a week-sized plan for Monday 12 October to Sunday 18 October — seven jobs, one per day, that move the needle whether the notification drops on Tuesday or next Monday.
Monday — Set up the portal watch properly. Check the official portal (exams.nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society) once a day, mornings only. One reliable check beats thirty anxious ones. Ignore “form released” forwards on WhatsApp and Telegram — fake AISSEE portals and “guaranteed seat” scams are already targeting parents this season, and the real link appears only on the NTA site.
Tuesday — Get the photo and signature right. These two files reject more forms than any exam doubt. Keep a recent passport photo (light background, face clearly visible) and a clean signature scan ready in the formats NTA normally asks for. Doing this on a calm Tuesday beats a panicked upload on the last day.
Wednesday — Fix category certificates now, not later. If you plan to claim SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS, the certificate must be current. OBC-NCL certificates are normally issued financial-year-wise, so a certificate from the right year — April 2026 onwards — is what the 2027 form will want. Income certificates for scholarships follow a similar one-financial-year validity. Getting these in the week is cheap insurance.
Thursday — Run a syllabus audit, subject by subject. 111 days is enough for two full revision cycles but not enough for a first-time read of everything. List every topic in Maths and Science as green (can attempt), yellow (shaky), or red (never touched). Friday and the weekend’s study sessions should target only yellows and reds.
Friday — Decide the RMS CET question. If your child is also eligible for Rashtriya Military Schools, note this: the RMS CET 2026 form closes 20 October at 5 PM (fee till 11:50 PM), with a late-fee window of 21–25 October at Rs 500 extra. It is a separate exam on a separate NTA portal, and the exam is on 13 December. A yes/no decision this week beats a rushed form next week.
Saturday — Write your first full-length mock of the season. One timed paper, OMR-style bubbling, no phone. For Class 6 that’s 125 questions in 150 minutes; for Class 9, 150 questions in 180 minutes. The score doesn’t matter; the error log does — and analysing it properly is where the real marks hide.
Sunday — Plan the UP Sainik School deadline. The UP Sainik Schools form (a separate exam from AISSEE) closes for normal fee on 25 October at 5 PM; the fee doubles from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 after that. If UP is your home state, confirm this weekend whether your child is applying — don’t leave it to the 24th.
| Deadline | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| AISSEE 2027 notification/form | Expected October 2026 | Not out yet |
| RMS CET 2026 form closes | 20 Oct 2026, 5 PM | 8 days left |
| RMS CET late-fee window | 21–25 Oct 2026 (+Rs 500) | Safety net |
| UP Sainik School normal fee ends | 25 Oct 2026, 5 PM | Fee doubles after |
Last year’s form opened on 10 October 2025 and stayed open roughly 20 days. That means the notification, whenever it drops this month, will still give families weeks to file. The families who suffer are never the ones who heard the news late — they’re the ones whose photo was rejected, whose caste certificate was expired, or whose child attempted the paper for the first time on exam day. Seven jobs this week, and you’re bulletproof on all three counts.
