In my 25 years of experience in education, I have seen that the GK section is where most students either score big or lose marks unnecessarily. The reason is simple: students either prepare too broadly (reading everything) or too narrowly (only current affairs). The key is to focus on high-frequency topics that appear in AISSEE year after year.
This list of 100 topics is compiled from analysis of AISSEE papers from 2021 to 2026. Every topic listed here has appeared in at least 2 of the last 6 exams.

AISSEE Class 6 has 25 GK questions worth 50 marks. AISSEE Class 9 also has 25 GK questions worth 50 marks. The GK section covers Indian History, Geography, Science, Current Affairs, and Defence-related topics.
The most important GK topics are: Indian Freedom Struggle (appears every year), Rivers and Mountains of India, National Symbols and Awards, Indian Space Program (ISRO), Defence and Military (since it’s a defence school entrance), and Current Affairs from the last 6 months.
Yes, GK is generally considered the easiest section to score in AISSEE because the questions are factual and predictable. Unlike Mathematics (which requires problem-solving) or Intelligence (which requires pattern recognition), GK questions have clear, definitive answers that can be memorized.
Read Lucent’s GK chapter by chapter, solve previous year GK questions, read a daily newspaper for current affairs, and focus on the 100 topics listed in this article. Spend 30 minutes daily on GK preparation — 10 minutes current affairs, 10 minutes revision, 10 minutes practice questions.
